The Cotswold Plod Fundraiser

A Team from the Argus Salisbury location took part in the Cotswold Plod on the 7th of June to raise money for Action Medical Research who specialise in Childrens Medical Research The Team comprising of Jordan Lewis , Tom Wilkes , Kevin Evans , Lee Roberts and Kevin Burrows joined 31 other teams of walkers starting out at midnight from Dursley Sports Centre and finishing at Cleeve Hill Golf Club just outside Cheltenham at 5.00pm the next day.

The course spans a total of forty gruelling miles through rough Cotswold terrain and is one of the toughest endurance challenges you can take part in.

Kevin Burrows the Sales Director at Salisbury and the teams support driver for the event said ” This is a massive achievment by the team , none of them had ever taken part in this kind of challenge before and no amount of training could totally prepare you for this event , they fought through the mental doubts and physical pain barriers to finish the course in 17 hours and crossed the line as a team. The team spirit was fantastic and when each member went through their own tough stages the others kept them going and helped them to push through the pain”

The Team raised in excess of £1500 for the Charity and would like to thank everyone who supported them.
